When it came time for the Hayeses to renew their season tickets in March, the team said no. They used, a resale forum promoted by the league, to sell their tickets to games in 20. The Hayeses sold their tickets for all eight regular season home games last year to protect Amber’s health during her pregnancy, but they hoped to renew for the coming season and return to Mile High Stadium to cheer on their favorite team. With tens of thousands of fans screaming and cheering and the ups and downs of the action on the field, NFL games aren’t exactly the best place for that. Doctors recommend that women who undergo those treatments take it easy throughout the pregnancy. With a newborn at home, it just wasn’t feasible for the Hayeses to attend more than two games in 2015.Īnd during the 2016 season, the Hayeses were doing fertility treatments to try to have a second child. The couple’s older son, Nolan, was born just before the 2015 season started. Jim Hayes said that he and Amber had been married 12 years before they were finally able to become pregnant with their first child. Jim shared their story on LinkedIn, and he told SB Nation why he and Amber are frustrated by the team’s decision. Then, in March 2017, the Hayeses were told by the team that their right to buy season tickets had been revoked. They finally got season tickets in 2011 after being on the team’s waiting list since 2004. So go home and smoke a joint and watch the Broncos from your big screen TV.Jim Hayes and his wife, Amber, are lifelong Broncos fans. At the end of the day the day it is their business and they want to look like heroes, but they are dirtbags just the same who hide the dirty laundry. Put lipstick on a pig (or pigskin) and its still a Pig. Unless that is one hell of a great looking filly, its a scalped ticket. 1 example might be a 3 nights hotel, transportation to and from the game, a date with a Bronco Cheerleader (no extras), a mingle with Craig Morton, and 2 end zone tickets for $6500 per person. Moreover, many are put into “Travel Packages” for the “fans” which are just disguised scalped tickets. Lets say the Broncs got 7,500-12,000 tickets when they made the Super Bowl, how many went to the “loyal fans” for face value then? Probably not even 20 percent. Moreover, if you were in the right social circles you may have also gotten them for face value from Bolen, Elway or other upper level management. I used to buy tickets every year from a guy who got them from “upper management.” He might have forgotten about it by now.Īnyway, That is why very few season seat holders get tickets when the Broncos make the Super Bowl. I dont know about Elway, but I guarantee that Pat Bowlen has scalped Super Bowl tickets (or did so through his cronies). Of course, the “fans” might not be at the game which is why the prices dropped below face. if the Broncos suck prices will go below face value and the “fans” will benefit even more. The more tickets that make the secondary market the cheaper it is for “fans” to buy them. The fans who dont have season seats just may not have been around or did not have the financial means to buy the tickets long ago. Stay dumb and distracted…Priority #1.Īre people who buy from the secondary market not fans? They may be wealthier fans, but they are just as much fans or even possibly bigger fans (is a bigger or better fan someone who would pay more money or would wait in line for 3 days because their time is not as valuable). Corporations run the world and sporting events are meant to distract you just like the Roman Gladiators at the Coliseum. Also states they’re electronic transaction records as evidence. If they said you can no longer purchase season tickets because you violated our agreement then they’ve tracked the proof. Rack up legal expenses attempting a civil suit with that stipulated. It’s a private contract that says you won’t resell them. Absolutely no illegal reality to revoking the ability to buy season tickets. When you’re not allowed to buy them it’s no longer capitalism. Is this anti-capitalism? Is it illegal? Only has to do with capitalism when you’re buying tickets and selling for a profit. Did this come from the owner or the GM? Probably had a meeting or two before pulling the trigger on this one, however I don’t believe you can assign blame nor credit to either. There’s a fine line between the arguments.
